Five things we look for in a first meeting

What tends to make a first conversation with us go well, and how to prepare for it.

A first meeting isn’t a test. It’s a conversation to see whether there’s a fit. Here’s what helps us get to know you and your company quickly.

1. A clear problem

Tell us who has the problem and how they deal with it today. A specific customer story beats a big market number.

2. Why you

We want to understand what you know about this problem that others don’t, and why your team is the one to solve it.

3. Evidence, at any scale

Early proof can be revenue, a waitlist, pilots or a handful of passionate users. What matters is that you’re learning from real people.

4. Honesty about the risks

Every early company has open questions. Founders who name their biggest risks and explain how they plan to address them earn a lot of trust.

5. A clear ask

Know how much you’re raising, what it will fund and what you hope to get from investors beyond the check.

If that sounds like a conversation you’d like to have, send us a note through the form on our homepage.
